His condition had been alarming for a week past. The deceased is survived by a wife, seven sons: James of Avoca, Martin, Joseph, John, and Frank of this city; daughters Anna and Mary Casey of this city, one sister, Mrs. Anna Ratchford, of Scranton.

To a complication of diseases
Carbondale, Feb.19, 1909: At 11:55 o’clock this morning occurred the death of Edward Casey, a well-known resident of the South Side. Death was due to a complication of diseases. The announcement of his demise will be received with profound regret in many quarters.
For several months the deceased had been in ill health but it was not until a week ago that his condition became alarming. He was a man possessed of many traits of character and his jovial disposition won for him the respect and friendship of a wide circle of acquaintances.
Beside his wife he is survived by his seven sons; James of Olyphant; William of Avoca; Martin, Michael, Joseph, John and Frank of this city, and two daughters, Annie and May, also one sister, Mrs. Anna Ratchford of Scranton. The funeral arrangements have not been completed yet.
