     February 11, 1995

     Margaret McAndrews, 91, of 320 Wayne St., Archbald, died Saturday morning in Summit View Manor, Carbondale. She was the widow of Thomas McAndrews.
     Born in Archbald, daughter of the late Daniel and Bridget Padden O'Hara, she was employed as a teacher prior to retirement and had owned McAndrews' Bar. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Archbald, and its Altar and Rosary Society. While teaching, she had helped save more than 200 children when Riverside Elementary School, Archbald, burned.
     Surviving are a son, Thomas, Archbald; nieces and nephews, including Monsignor Donald McAndrews, Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Anna; four brothers, Thomas, Daniel, John and Monsignor James O'Hara.
     The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the Harrison Funeral Home, 374 Main St., Archbald, with Mass at 10:30 in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Archbald. Interment, parish cemetery.
     Friends may call Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.²
