She died from a stroke.
The following notice as issued by The Adorers of the Blood of Christ:

My spirit takes delight in the presence of our God; my heart is filled with laughter and my words fall short of the truth I long to express. For the One whom I love is faithful. Based on Luke 2:46-55

Dear Sisters,

Sister Mary William Crane, ASC, our little flower, quietly left us on May 15, 1993. She was eighty-five years old and had been a professed Adorer for fifty-eight years.
Ann Isabel was born February 18, 1908 in Carbondale, PA to Bernard and Ellen (Casey) Crane and was the youngest girl in a family of ten children. She is survived by one sister, Sister Mary Alice Crane, OSF; a sister-in-law, Mary Crane; cousins, among whom is Sister M. Ambrose, IHM; a niece, Sister Julia Crane, SP and several other nieces and nephews.
For thirty-five years, Mary William ministered as a teacher in elementary schools in parishes served by the Province in Pennsylvania, Indiana, North and South Carolina, Georgia, Illinois and Ohio. Her special delight were the little black children who affectionately responded to the little sister who loved them.
From 1941 to 1947 Mary William was secretary to Bishop Waters of the Raleigh, NC Diocese. She also served as Provincial Secretary from 1947 to 1948.
After her retirement to the Provincial House, Sister performed various duties and willingly companioned Sisters in mission parishes for short periods of time. The latest of these was from early January, 1993 to Tuesday of Holy Week, when she lived at Sacred Heart, Lewistown, PA as companion to Sister Mary John. During that time she befriended "Patrick", the bird, which was a source of much joy and many stories!
In the early morning of May 12th Sister suffered a stroke and 'a very large bleed in her head, causing much swelling and pressure in her brain. She went into cardiac arrest in the Emergency Room, died and was resuscitated. She lived for three more days until 3:45 P.M. on May 15th when she died peacefully as Sister Rosemarie Tomak prayed the Hail Mary.
Mary William suffered with a heart problem, Parkinson's Disease and was declared legally blind. Her determination to continue living fully in spite of these obstacles was an inspiration to us. Her lively Irish wit and happy disposition coupled with strong faith, love for God, her family and community are gifts we treasure. Our "Sweet William" must surely now continue to be our advocate in heaven.
On May 17, 1993 her body was brought to the Provincial House in Columbia, PA. Members of her family and Sisters joined in a Vesper Wake Service at 7:00 P.M. Reverend Francis B. Sullivan, CPPS, Provincial House Chaplain, celebrated the 11:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial on May 18, 1993.
Pray for us, Mary William, as we strive to live and love joyfully as you did!

He was baptized on March 17, 1872, at St. Patrick's Church, Irish Settlement, Iowa. The night before he was married, Father John F. Kempker, the pastor, learned that he had to travel out of town early the next day. The wedding party was notified to be at the church earlier than planned the next morning for the ceremony. By the time relatives and friends arrived, the wedding ceremony was over.
After their marriage, they live on a farm five and 1/2 miles northeast of Winterset, which belonged to her father, Edward Monagan. (He, Edward Monaghan, lived with the family during his last years, until his death, March 20, 1910. He is buried in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Irish Settlement.) Frank and Ellen's first five children, Agnes, Edward, Francis, Thomas, and Ellen, were born there.
Frank's health was not good and it was hoped a change of climate would improve it. In 1911, they drove a team of mules to Garnett, Kansas, where Frank's brother, Mike, and his family lived. Their fourth son, James, was born during the few months the family stayed in Garnett.
When the Kansas climate did not improve Frank's health, the family shipped the mules, buggy and household goods to Colorado, where they homesteaded near Willard. In 1913, son Walter was born. In her notes, Sister Frances Marie remembers taht there weren't many roads. To go any place the family either drove a team of horses or walked across prairie or fields. There were few fences, but many large tumble weeds, which blew across yards, fields, and prairie. Some neighbors lived fairly close: the Thomas family were the nearest, about a quarter of a mile south; Uncle Joe (a brother of Frank's) and Aunt Mag Melroy, the Soderquest and Amy families, and a bachelor, Tony Creamer, lived in the area. (her brother, Francis, later married Edna Soderquist.)
There were few trees and she remembers going with her parents to the mountains to dig up trees to plant in their yard.
Homesteading was difficult and lonely, and her mother was homesick for Iowa. The growing family returned to their farm in Madison County, Iowa. One thing Sister Frances Marie remembers about returning to Iowa on the train was the white coats the three youngest children wore and having to sit on someone's lap to save expense. The coats were "hand me downs" from the older children and were later passed on down the line.
Back in Iowa in 1915, John, was born, and in 1917, the youngest son, Charles, arrived. A month later on April 1, 1917, Frank died of tuberculosis leaving Ellen with the nine children to raise. Living nearby were two of Ellen's brothers, James and Thomas Monaghan, and a sister, Marcella Monaghan Cunningham. They were comport and support to the young widow and her children, and Ellen was able to keep the family together.
Following his father's death, the oldest son, Edward, left school to work fulltime on the farm and help his mother raise the younger children. The children attended the Guiderson Country School. Sister Frances Marie later transferred to the Greenwood School, when her sister, Agnes, started teaching there.
Once the children were grown, Edward and his mother moved into Winterset. Sher kept house for him until her death from cancer, August 26, 1951.
Francis was born on 13 February 1872, at Madison County, Iowa. He married Ellen Teresa Monaghan on 2 October 1901 at Winterset, Iowa 50273.2,1 Francis died on 1 April 1917 at Madison County, Iowa, at age 45.
